The Road To Residency
Once you have decided that Williamsburg Landing offers the lifestyle, security, services and amenities that you envision for your retirement, the rest is easy. Our goal is to provide the information and support necessary to make your move to Williamsburg Landing a satisfying experience.
Residency Requirements
Residency at Williamsburg Landing is typically limited to individuals whose suitability for independent living is measured by ambulation and general good health. At least one individual in each jointly-occupied independent residence must be sixty-two (62) years of age or older.
1. Future Residency Application. Individuals interested in Independent Living at
Williamsburg Landing but who are unsure of when they might want to become a
resident are invited to sign the Future Residency Application. This provides you with
a priority number, based upon the date you sign up. You are asked to identify up to
three specific residential models that you prefer and the year you anticipate moving to
Williamsburg Landing. (Note: The Future Residency Application does not “lock in”
the Entrance Fee.)
2. Future Residency List Fee. You are asked to make a refundable deposit of $1,000
payable to Williamsburg Landing, Inc. A completed Future Residency
Application and payment of the Future Residency List Fee places you on the “Future
Residency List.”
3. Future Residents Benefits. Future Residents will receive monthly issues of the
Tatler newsletter, periodic updates of happenings at Williamsburg Landing,
invitations to special events and are eligible to join (separate fee) the Health Club &
Spa.
4. Ready Status List. Admission to Williamsburg Landing is considered from a
separate “Ready Status List” comprised of individuals approaching the time when they
wish to become residents. A refundable deposit of $10,000 toward the Entrance Fee
places a depositor on the “Ready Status List” in the date priority based on when the
Ready Status Fee is paid. (Note: The Ready Status deposit does not “lock in” the
Entrance fee.)
5. Disclosure Statement. Upon receipt of a $10,000 deposit towards the Entrance Fee and
placement on the Ready Status List you will receive a copy of Williamsburg Landing’s
Disclosure Statement. This statement fully describes the organization, tax status,
services provided, fees, policies, Residency Agreement and other important
information about Williamsburg Landing.
6. Availability of Residence. When a residence of your choice is projected to become
available you will be contacted by the Marketing Office. You have the right of refusal
three times after which your name will move to the bottom of the “Ready Status List.”
7. Active Admission Process. Upon accepting a residence you will pay a separate
$1,000 per person, non-refundable “Admission Processing Fee” then complete the
following financial and medical forms that are sent to the Business Office and Medical
Clinic:
- Personal and Financial Information form. (one per household)
- Individual Statement of Medical History and Condition form. (one per applicant)
- Personal Physician Statement form. (one per applicant)
- Patient Acknowledgement form.
- Notice of Privacy Practices.
8. Medical Review. Upon receipt of all completed financial and medical application
forms, and any required test results, the Marketing Office will schedule a personal
appointment with our Medical Director.
9. Admissions Application Review. Once all applications have been reviewed, the
medical appointment completed and a financial review conducted, you will be notified
whether or not you have been accepted for residency at Williamsburg Landing. Any
approval for admission will be subject to re-evaluation based upon material and
adverse changes to a depositor’s financial and/or medical condition before the
Residency Agreement Date. If your admission is not approved, you will be notified
and receive a full refund of all deposits made toward the Entrance Fee within 30 days.
(Note: the “Admission Processing fee” is non- refundable.) If approved for admission a
“Residency Agreement Date” will be established to complete all necessary documents.
10. Residency Agreement Date. You will have approximately 60 days from accepting a
residence to occupy and/or assume financial responsibility for your residence. On the
Residency Agreement Date you will sign a “Residency Agreement”, pay the final
balance of the Entrance Fee, Second Person Fee (if applicable) and the first Monthly
Service Fee.
